The client, a tech company specializing in e-commerce, leverages technology, data, and marketing to build brands that meet consumer needs. I collaborated with their Learning and Development (L&D) team to create training videos for their diverse, remote workforce.
Project Requirements
The L&D team required training videos that reflected the company’s fast-paced, dynamic brand identity and remote work culture. Key requirements included a modern, casual aesthetic to resonate with their millennial workforce; diverse representation of remote workers from Latin America, the US, the Middle East, and the Philippines; avoidance of traditional office settings, focusing instead on digital nomad and work-from-home imagery; and high visual energy and movement to maintain engagement.

Challenges and Solutions
Two primary challenges emerged during the project. First, sourcing cost-efficient, high-quality stock footage that authentically represented the client’s diverse, remote workforce across regions like Latin America, Asia, and the Middle East proved difficult. I addressed this by leveraging stock subscriptions, AI-generated imagery, and custom B-roll techniques to craft a cohesive visual narrative.

Second, the lengthy training modules, paired with broad descriptions from the L&D team, required me to independently develop animation concepts. To keep viewers engaged, I alternated between high-energy “active” scenes and simpler “passive” ones, with particularly dynamic intros and outros to bookend the content effectively.

Outcome and Impact
The L&D team praised the videos for their alignment with the company’s brand and their potential effectiveness in training. Their positive feedback, as subject-matter experts, highlighted the videos’ success in engaging and educating the remote workforce while embodying the company’s dynamic, remote-first culture.
